It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction to you as a new member of this great Catholic school community. I am proud to serve as the superintendent of schools for such outstanding educational institutions.
I am a Port Arthur native and resident, and all four of my children attended Catholic schools in our Diocese. My wife and I are proud that our children are Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School graduates. We firmly believe in the value of a Catholic School education, and the investment we made in our children was a solid decision.
As we progress to the end of this 2023-2024 academic school year, I want to express to you my heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering support of St. Anne School. I have been asked recently and in the past what makes Catholic Schools so special. Catholic Schools educate the whole child. This means we look at the spiritual, emotional, social, physical, as well as academic aspects of student development. Though many desire to enroll in our Catholic schools because of excellence in academics, or athletics or the arts, Jesus Christ is the primary reason for our schools. The schools in our diocese are Catholic schools of excellence where each child is challenged to grow in knowledge, wisdom, faith and love in imitation of the person of Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus Himself is at the very center of our schools, as a means of continuing His very own mission of proclaiming the Gospel.
I wholeheartedly value the programs and services that are in place at St. Anne, and the leadership at this school remains committed to building upon past practices to ensure that current and future students have opportunities to explore their interests and find their true passions. Please know that St. Anne School makes every effort to foster a culture of connection, collaboration, and transparency to ensure the continued success of our students, school and Diocesan community.
While serving as your Superintendent of Schools, I plan to be accessible to all stakeholders and maintain an open door communication practice. I encourage and welcome any questions, comments or concerns you have about our schools and can be reached directly at rreid@dioceseofbmt.org and 409.924.4322. God Bless You All!
Your Brother in Christ,
Robert Reid
