St. Anne recently adopted and implemented a new science curriculum,
McGraw-Hill’s Science: A Closer Look. This curriculum offers exciting and accessible standards-based lessons, engaging activities that promote curiosity, and the development of science inquiry skills to first- through fifth-graders. Glencoe’s iScience engages the interests of sixth- through eighth-grade students with interesting features and thought-provoking questions that encourage students to relate the science concepts to the world around them.
The inquiry-based lesson cycles provide active, hands-on explorations of these concepts. Through a consistent and structured science learning cycle, students confidently build upon their experiences to develop a lifelong
understanding of science theories.
Fourth- through eighth-grade teachers are trained for instruction and implementation of the JASON Project, a middle-school science program designed to motivate and inspire students to pursue interests and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. St. Anne students have the opportunity to have hands-on experiences and participate in interactive,
web-based Jason Project lessons.
