When it comes to providing education in a Christ-centered school, we are focused on doing that without regard for a student's background, ethnicity, social status or the family's financial worth. Educational opportunity is comparable for all, regardless of those things; and the cost of educating a child is the same, regardless. However, it is not always possible for a family to afford Catholic tuition as easily as another family which may be blessed with greater earning potential or assets. Rather than charging the full amount to all parties regardless of financial capability, St. Anne chose to implement a sliding scale of tuition rates for all families. With this scale balancing tuition rates to a more similar degree of sacrifice, children from all walks-of-life and financial backgrounds have the opportunity to benefit from the education and faith-formation offered.
That sums up why fundraising is necessary in school. Perhaps with the exception of non-Catholic families, no one pays the actual cost of educating their child at St. Anne. The actual cost is greater than the categorical amount of tuition charged; a difference which must be made up through grants, gifts, fundraising activities and programs, bequests, and endowments. Moreover, development efforts and activities are a great way to market the school to newcomers, build community, while teaching and focusing on the true mission of St. Anne. We invite you to join us in our efforts with your gifts - time, talent or treasure - whichever you have the opportunity to share benefits us and make us a stronger community of God and a better place to educate a child.
